FACTORY 47 VICLA PROJECT: The right bike.

Factory 47 has a reputation for quality made production meat hook handle bars designed to fit any new bagger, Softail or Dyna Harley Davidson. So it would make sense to make our first project build a modern bagger or dyna? We decided to swing in a completely different direction and go back to our roots where it all started for us, a vicla Softail. So now the first step is selecting the right bike. It can be difficult to choose the correct Softail, there is so many years, models, and colors to choose from. We decided on going with a 2003 Harley Davidson Softail Heritage for the simple reason nothing says tradition like 100 year anniversary. Not to mention the awesome black and silver color scheme. Fortunate for us our very own Factory 47 representative Mark has been in the market for a new bike and tracked down the perfect bike, a completely stock unmolested Heritage with the color scheme we want and only 7k miles on it. We took no chances and got the bike last night, congratulations Mark. As you can see by the first picture it came with all the original heritage bags, windshield and stock seat. In the second picture, all of that had to go in the first day. We also added a La Pera Seat for the low down look with comfort. We plan on making some major changes to this bike soon, so keep checking our blog for the latest updates. Don't think we plan to do this whole build to just put our meat hook handle bars on it, the main reason for this build as mentioned before is to return to our roots and tradition, so we plan on designing a whole new set of OG round vicla handle bars and crash bars that we plan on releasing after the build, veterano style.

Any 2015-20 Road Glide can use STOCK CABLES with 16" Signature Handle Bars!

We have big news. We just figured out how to re route stock 2015-17 Road Glide cables to fit 16" Signature handle bars. And they are not to tight nor do they bind when you turn. We will release a full how to install video in the near future. Here is a little video that explains how we did it. We apologize for the sound the fan was on and hit the microphone. You can also use your stock throttle by wire but you will have to extend your wires. The wires are $35 and are plug and play.

Harley Davidson Control Clamps.

Harley Davidson has been  good on using the same control clamps for years. It really doesn't matter what year or model of your bike because they are all universal. That is until they released the 2015 Road Glide and it came out with a longer heavier clamp with a pin on the other side. It is kinda random that they did that. The new design does not look bad and the pin on the other side seems to be a safety feature, not to mention the extra weight is suppose to reduce handle bar vibration. But why only do it to the Road Glide Standard, Special and Ultra? The Road Glide CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) is the premium Harley Davidson and it has the older style control clamp. It might be due to the fact the controls are chrome on the CVO maybe Harley never chromed the new style clamp so just settled for the older style. Well thankfully it is only a clamp and it honestly takes two minutes to change them. Our Signature handle bar is designed to fit the Standard, Special and Ultra model for the clamp. If you have a CVO please specify when you purchase so we can make sure the handle bar we send you will fit perfectly. Now if you are trying to run one of our handlebars that is not a Signature on your 2015-now Road Glide all you simply have to do is buy the older style clamps which run around $30 (click here for example). You can use the diagrams below to determine which style you have.
